The Healing Power of Touch

A little eight year old girl afflicted with cancer traveled across the seas to seek medical care.

This little girl has lived with the support of an oxygen cylinder for a year and a half now. Her condition has inhibited her from living a normal childhood filled with learning and fun.

As heart breaking as this appears, her soul chose this challenge for a higher reason and it must be honoured.

After prolonged efforts, the little girl received adequate financial support to make the trip overseas for medical intervention.

Far from the comfort of home, this child displayed unmatched bravery and calmness, even as she was wheeled into the operation theatre.

Upon successful completion of the surgery, she lay calm and still in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

When the surgeon went to check on her, she wiggled her tiny pinky finger in an effort to tell him something. Language barriers made it hard for the surgeon to understand what the little one was trying to say. After numerous failed attempts at trying to understand her gesture, she made it easy for him by stretching out her hand and reaching for his little finger. And she interlocked his finger with her own.

"Aha!" said the surgeon as he realised that she was reaching out to him for comfort.

And the doctor and his little patient sat together for a few minutes, fingers interlocked.

What a divine moment!

This, dear lightworkers, is the healing power of touch.

The surgeon is my husband. And the little girl his patient.

This story he shared yesterday touched my soul and brought me to tears. And I felt divinely inspired to share it with you.

This little child has touched the hearts of doctors and nurses at the hospital and even people miles away from the hospital, such as me and possibly you too!
She has been an Angel, demonstrating the healing power of touch to the world.

Touch is such as important part of the healing process. Very often, touch can do more than words.

Let us make it a priority to offer a loving hug or a gentle touch to those in pain. And in times of need, let us not hesitate to reach out to others for a healing hand, as this little Angel did.

Blessings to her tender heart, body, mind and soul.

Blessings to the doctors and nurses who attend to this Angelic child.

Blessings to all of us in the healing community who have the ability to touch lives in different ways .
